Botham Jean Act Press Conference
Time & Location
About the Event
Two years ago, on September 6, 2018, 26-year-old, Botham Jean was shot and killed by an off-duty Dallas police officer, Amber Guyger, as he was sitting in his apartment.
Although Ms. Guyger was terminated by the Dallas Police Department 18 days after the incident, indicted by a grand jury and charged and convicted of murder, the law must be reformed to
prevent heinous acts like this one from occurring in the future.
On September 6, 2020, Representative Carl O. Sherman, Sr. (District -109) will hold a press conference to unveil legislation to codify and strengthen existing criminal justice laws to address the use of excessive and deadly force by those who are sworn to protect and serve all Americans.
